What a wonderful thought; the apostle is reverencing God as the source of endurance and encouragement. In other words, He is the God of HOPE! In Christ Jesus the believer is allowed freedom and liberty, but it is not so we can please ourselves, it is so we can live for the glory of God.
We have had grace extended to us so that we can live in unity with God and man. As believers we share one goal, and should all be working to accomplish that same goal. We should be encouraging one another with all hope to continue working until the day we are given our rest. Always lifting one another up, building up the "church" for the next generation. So that our actions of encouragement, and our words of hope might bring glory to God!
